Frequently asked questions

Everything about testing your website with loady, in plain language.

What is loady?
loady is an online tool that tests how your website behaves when many people visit it at once. You point it at your site, start a test, and get a clear answer: did it hold up or not.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. You pick your website, choose how much traffic to send, and press start. The result is written in plain language — the technical detail is there for those who want it.
How does loady work?
loady sends realistic visitor traffic to your website for a short time and measures how quickly it responds. When the test ends, you get a report with a clear verdict and the numbers behind it.
What can I test?
Any website or web service you own — a shop, a booking system, an API. You verify that you own the domain first, so loady never tests someone else’s site.
What is the Global Generator Fleet?
Visitors come from all over the world, so loady’s test traffic does too. It is sent from several regions at once — Europe, the US, Asia and more — so the result reflects what real users experience.
What does p99 mean?
Response time is how long your site takes to answer. p99 is the time all but the slowest 1% of visitors stayed under — so “p99 of 212 ms” means 99 out of 100 visitors got a response within roughly a fifth of a second.
How do I read my results?
Start with the verdict at the top — it says in one sentence whether your site held up. Below it are the details: how fast your site responded, how many requests failed, and how each region did.
How do I choose the right test size?
Start small and work up. A good first test is roughly your busiest hour’s traffic; once that passes, increase it until you find your limit. The free tier is made for exactly this.
Can I test before launching?
Yes — that is the best time. Run loady against your staging or pre-launch site to find your ceiling before real visitors do.
What if my site can’t handle the traffic?
Nothing breaks permanently — the test simply shows where the limit is. The report tells you honestly that your site was the bottleneck, at what traffic level it struggled, and when it began to slow down.
How long does a test take?
Most tests run for a few minutes. You watch the traffic live, and the verdict appears as soon as the run finishes.
Is it safe to run a test?
You stay in control: you set the traffic level and duration, you can stop a run at any moment, and loady only tests domains you have verified as yours.
